Alert · Protocol · Training

Seconds to know. Clear steps to act. Training to stay calm.

A phone call to reception, then an announcement over the building's loudspeakers: it takes time people don't have, and a loud announcement to everyone at once can cause panic instead of order. ARGOS takes seconds. A coordinator identifies the incident and alerts everyone in the building at once. Every phone then opens the protocol written for that exact type of incident, and the people holding them have practised it with Argos Academy.

Three things save lives in a crisis:
knowing fast, knowing what to do, and having done it before.

How preparation turns into protection.

In a crisis, the minutes lost between the first call and the first announcement are the ones that cost the most. ARGOS turns those minutes into seconds and puts the right information in the hands of people who know what it means.

  1. 01 · REPORT

    The alarm is raised.

Whoever sees it first reports it from their own phone in two taps, and can add a short video. Coordinators are notified right away.

  2. 02 · ALERT

    A coordinator identifies the threat.

A trained coordinator looks at what was reported and decides what kind of incident it is: fire, an attacker, a medical emergency. That one decision sets everything that follows in motion.

  3. 03 · HANDLE

Everyone gets the alert and the protocol.

Everyone in the building is alerted within seconds, not after a chain of phone calls and announcements. On every phone, ARGOS opens the protocol made for that type of incident, so each person sees whether to leave, hide or stay where they are. People trained with Argos Academy recognise the steps and act on them.

  4. 04 · CLOSE

    Everyone is counted.

Coordinators check who is safe across floors and buildings, guide those still at risk and call in help. The incident closes with a full record, ready to learn from.

Tested where it needs to work — a live campus, not a lab.

ARGOS completed its pilot at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, in a busy academic building full of students and staff. The faculty's response team was trained to coordinate incidents, and drills were run for each type of incident, with the matching protocol on every phone. The pilot ended with a full evacuation of the whole building.

ARGOS AlertControl is developed by AURIUS s.r.o., a Bratislava technology company with almost three decades of experience. We design every part of ARGOS ourselves, from the mobile apps people carry to the platform coordinators rely on in the moments that matter most. You work with one team that answers for all of it. Your data stays protected on secure servers in the European Union.

Questions we hear on every first call.

Do people in the building need to install anything?

Just the ARGOS AlertControl app for iOS or Android. Your administrator creates staff accounts, so nobody has to register themselves. Guest users, such as students, visitors or patients, can join with limited access.

What do we need in our building?

Nothing new. ARGOS works with the infrastructure your building already has. During a one-time site survey we map your buildings, blocks and floors, so there are no devices to install and no cabling.

What happens when someone reports an incident?

They tap twice and can add a short video. Coordinators are notified straight away. A coordinator assesses the situation, marks the type of incident and alerts everyone in the building within seconds. For critical incidents, coordinators who are off duty are alerted as well.

What do people see when the alert arrives?

The protocol for that specific type of incident opens on their phone. Each protocol is written for one kind of situation, such as a fire, an attacker or a medical emergency. It tells people clearly whether to leave, hide or stay where they are.

How do people learn what to do?

Through Argos Academy, the training that comes with every ARGOS deployment. Short, practical lessons and drills teach people how to act in each type of incident. When a protocol appears on their screen, they already know what it means.

Can coordinators check whether people are safe?

Yes. Coordinators can ask everyone on a floor, in a block or in the whole building how they are. People answer “safe” or “at risk” with one tap, straight from the notification. Coordinators can also send announcements to everyone currently in the building.

When is a person's location recorded?

Only during an active incident, and only so help can reach the right place. Outside your buildings, ARGOS doesn't know where you are at all: the phone itself only tells the app whether you are inside the protected building or not. Inside the building, location is not stored either. Until an incident starts, the app simply checks in from time to time to make sure it can reach you. Once an incident starts, the app keeps your location up to date so coordinators can see where people are.

Who can see where people are?

Only your organization's response team, and only in connection with incidents. Guest users, such as students or visitors, are shown to coordinators only as counts by status, never by name. Location data is never shared with third parties.

Where is our data stored?

On secure servers in the European Union. All personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable EU and national data protection laws.

Can we try it without triggering real alerts?

Yes. Demo mode walks you through a complete incident without alerting anyone, and everything is deleted afterwards. The one exception is an emergency call to 112 placed from the app, which is always real, even in demo mode.
